Delaware Today of Today Media, Inc. has featured the Nanticoke Indian Powwow in its December 2012 Issue of “50 Things Every Delawarean Must Do.” The Nanticoke Indian Powwow made item number 36 exclaiming that “The annual Nanticoke Powwow, held in Millsboro each September, is a glimpse of our bygone native culture, as well as traditions from tribes across the country. The music and dancing is transfixing. Enjoy the fry bread….”

For the past 35 years the Nanticoke Indian Association, Inc. has hosted is Annual Powwow on the weekend following Labor Day (September). Visitors from all of the state and Delmarva come to witness the culture and traditions on display during the two day event. Traditional Native American foods such as Fry bread and the adopted “Indian Taco” are on hand for purchase as well as numerous handmade artifacts and goods.

The 2013 Nanticoke Indian Powwow will be held on Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th, 2013.
